Position: Applications/ Field Service Support Engineer

Job Summary: 
Handle customers’ demonstrations at factory and travel to customer locations for all on-site installations, startup, diagnosis, service and repair of SEMIgear’s equipment. His/her function as SEMIgear's liaison with customers on administrative, technical, operational, and maintenance issues. 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Handle customers’ demonstrations at factory.
  • Support customers on process / application issues at the customers' facility.
  • Provide updates on open issues and resolution schedule to Management.
  • Write training documents.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex electronic and mechanical problems.
  • Serve as company liaison for all administrative and technical matters.
  • Interface with factory & customer during all phases of installation.
  • Ensure customer's facility and all support equipment is ready and available for installation of equipment.
  • Install upgrades and retrofits on customer owned machines.
  • Continuously instruct customer operators in the proper use, maintenance, and repair of SEMIgear’s equipment.
  • Coordinate and perform preventative maintenance on all SEMIgear’s products.
  • Maintain, repair and clean mechanical systems and assemblies.
  • Interface with technical support, design engineering, and manufacturing engineering on tooling, preventive maintenance procedures, design and reliability.
  • Works from engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals during the installation, debugging, and repair of SEMIgear’s equipment.
  • Develop and Complete standard documentation procedures and forms.
  • Follows all established clean room cleanliness requirements, procedures, and protocols.


Specialized Knowledge: 

Ability to: Interface with multiple departments to ensure consistent & effective communication. Build relationships with customers/vendors/department contacts. Organize work. Maintain & distribute reports. Perform preventative Maintenance. Work from complex engineering drawings/schematics/manuals. Work from checklist and procedures. Troubleshoot. Apply ingenuity and logic to resolve complex electronic, electrical, pneumatic, mechanical assembly, drive mechanism, and software systems problems for all SEMIgear’s products. Recommend improvements to improve equipment uptime. Maintain technical proficiency on semiconductor equipment. 

Knowledge of: Correcting problems concerned with the electronic, electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, assembly, drive mechanism, and software systems. 

Skilled at: Customer service. Microsoft Office. Providing continuous instruction on the proper use, maintenance and repair of our equipment. 



Education Requirements: 

Preferred Degrees: BSEE, BSEET 
Associates degree in Electronics and 6 years experience is also a possibility for this position. 
Desired Years of Experience: 4 to 6
